Our story
Helping Parrots was established in 2024 by Jess and Aislynn, two teenage girls with a deep passion for rescue, training, and most importantly, parrots! For years, we dreamed of creating a safe haven rescue, but it was an emergency surrender case involving six birds that turned our dream into a reality. That moment sparked the launch of Helping Parrots, and we have been growing ever since, one feathered friend at a time.
As Helping Parrots grew, so did our flock, until it outgrew our homes. Being teenagers, our families were supportive (but let’s be honest, a little overwhelmed) by the number of birds in the house. We knew we needed a better solution.
That’s when we decided to create a dedicated space for the rescue right on our horse farm. To make it happen, Jess and Aislynn took on early morning barn work and other jobs, starting as early as 4 a.m., to fund the project themselves.
Eventually, we were able to purchase a shell 12x40 building and began the exciting (and exhausting) journey of building it out to out vision.
That brings us to today, we are still growing, still building, and still learning, but everyday gets us one step closer to our dream:
Creating a safe and loving fresh start for the rescue parrots of Florida.
