How To Help
Adopt!
At Helping Parrots Rescue, we believe every parrot deserves a safe, loving, and permanent home. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and help each bird find its forever perch. Many of these parrots have come from tough situations and arrive needing a fresh start. While we do everything we can to help them, the true transformation happens when you step in and give them the love and stability they’ve been waiting for.
The Adoption Process:
- Submit An Application: Complete our adoption application and email it to: helpingparrotsrescue@gmail.com
- Schedule A Visit: Come meet the birds at our facility in Ocala, FL. The number of visits required depends on the individual bird’s personality and your level of experience.
- Home Check: A quick home visit is required to ensure a safe environment for your new parrot.
- Welcome Your New Family Member: Once everything is approved and paperwork is complete, your feathered friend is ready to go home!
Adoption Donation amounts range from $60-$700

Foster!
Every bird that enters our rescue goes through a 2–4 week quarantine period. During this time, they’re tested for common avian diseases, including Pacheco’s, Polyoma, Avian Borna Virus, PBFD, and Chlamydia.Since we don’t currently have dedicated quarantine space on-site, this is where our incredible fosters step in.While it’s ideal for quarantine fosters to have no other birds, it’s not a requirement. If there are other birds in the home, fosters must provide a completely separate room for the new bird and follow strict cross-contamination protocols to ensure the safety of all feathered residents.
The Foster Process:
- Submit An Application: Complete our foster application and email it to: helpingparrotsrescue@gmail.com
- Schedule A Visit: If approved, visit our facility in Ocala, FL to meet us and the birds. We’ll ask you to spend some time with them so we can get a feel for your comfort level, and speak with you about parrot husbandry.
- Home Check: A home visit is required to ensure a safe environment for the parrots.
- Matching You With A Parrot: If everything checks out, you’ll sign a foster agreement, and we’ll match you with a parrot in need of temporary care.
